Brazilian government iniciates sunset review of antidumping duties on imports of n-butanol
The Brazilian government has initiated today a sunset review of antidumping duties on Brazilian imports of n-butanol (NCM code 2905.13.00) from South Africa and Russia.
Anti-dumping measures had already been imposed in December/2016 and importers are already paying an overprice to purchase the products from these countries.
With the start of the review process, the Brazilian government may extend these measures for another 5 (five) years.
The review process takes 10 months and can be extended to additional 2 months.
Interested exporters and importers must defend themselves in the process to avoid the continuity of the applicable antidumping measures or, at least, try to obtain a reduction of the antidumping duty currently in force
Interested parties have until January 12th, 2022 to qualify for participating in the process.
The full Circular Note of the Brazilian Secretary of Foreign Trade, which established the initiation of the sunset review can be found in the following link: https://in.gov.br/web/dou/-/circular-n-85-de-22-de-dezembro-de-2021-369787012
Figueiredo Law is available to clarify any doubts about the process.
